Approved payment to UMBALSM “N. I. Pirogov” EAD in the amount of 560.00 BGN.

One of the conditions that Boyana suffers from is hydrocephalus, for which a shunt has been placed between the two hemispheres of her brain. This shunt diverts excess cerebrospinal fluid to her abdominal cavity, where it can be naturally absorbed by the body. By draining the fluid to another part of the body, pressure and increased tension on the brain are relieved. Due to a blockage of the shunt “valve,” Boyana was urgently admitted to Pirogov Hospital for surgical removal, revision, and reinstallation of the shunt.

As an accompanying person, Boyana’s mother, Gergana Spasova, had to pay 560.00 BGN for her hospital room and stay. Gergana contacted us asking to transfer the amount to the hospital, as she is unable to cover these unforeseen expenses herself.

As you already know, Boyana also suffers from a very rare condition, which requires her and her mother to visit a hospital in France every few months, as there is no specialized clinic in Bulgaria to treat this condition.

They also purchase necessary medications and supplies from France, without which Boyana cannot survive. The cost of her treatment and medications is enormous and unaffordable for her family, which is why we are turning to you – people with big hearts – please continue donating!
