International Day of Persons with Disabilities – December 3

On December 3, we celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities – a date that reminds society of the importance of equality, accessibility, and full participation of all people, regardless of their challenges.

On behalf of the Lazar Todorov Foundation, we express our respect and support to people with disabilities and their families. Every day, they demonstrate strength, resilience, and courage in overcoming numerous challenges – both visible and invisible.

Our message

  • More than tolerance is needed – true understanding, empathy, and active inclusion are essential.
  • Accessibility is a fundamental human right – to the environment, education, work, information, and services.
  • Persons with disabilities are a valuable part of society with contributions, talents, and potential that should be recognized and supported.
  • This day is a call to institutions, organizations, businesses, and citizens to consistently work towards creating an inclusive environment, where the principle “Nothing for us, without us” leads the way.

How everyone can contribute

  • Remove barriers – both physical and attitudinal.
  • Support initiatives and organizations working for the rights of persons with disabilities.
  • Be a voice for equality, accessibility, and active participation.

Together forward

The Lazar Todorov Foundation believes that real social change begins with compassion and action. Together, we can build a more inclusive, supportive, and fair society for all.
