Dian was seriously injured in a bicycle accident on 08.06.2024. The boy was admitted urgently to MBAL – Shumen, where a CT scan of the head and musculoskeletal system was performed. Severe injuries to the right leg and knee joint were detected, requiring an urgent surgery to implant a 3.5 mm anatomically contoured plate for distal medial tibia with locking compression holes.
Dian’s parents had to pay BGN 2,280 for the surgery, as this type of intervention is not covered by health insurance, and the amount was completely unaffordable for the family. Within a few days, we managed to raise the necessary funds here!
The surgery was successful – the child has been discharged from the hospital and is recovering at home.
