Boyana is not just a patient with a severe diagnosis. She is a young woman who refuses to be defined by a wheelchair or hospital rooms and chooses to fight instead of giving in to despair. Despite being born with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, paraparesis of the lower limbs, and a neurogenic bladder, Boyana has walked a path that would break many.
She has undergone more than 23 surgeries, but while her body struggles with illness, her spirit works tirelessly. Today, Boyana is a university student, a proud holder of a driver’s license, and a young person who dreams of helping society through her future work.
In Bulgaria, there is no specialized clinic for the comprehensive treatment she needs. This requires Boyana and her mother to travel to France every few months.
After her latest major reconstruction of the bladder and urinary tract, Boyana now faces a crucial step – a urodynamic test in a French clinic to monitor the condition of the new organ. Thanks to the support of donors, the costs for her upcoming stay at the Pitié-Salpêtrière University Hospital in Paris are covered, but the battle is not over.
To continue her education and personal development, Boyana needs expensive medications to keep her condition stable, as well as funding for frequent check-ups and specialized interventions in France, which are vital for her health.
Boyana has proven that she has the will. Now she needs our support for the next steps. Every donation, no matter how small, is an investment in the future of a remarkable young woman who simply wants to be independent and contribute to society.
We kindly ask you to support Boyana on her path to a normal life!
