A Place for Safety, Growth, and Hope

There are places that are more than just four walls.
They are shelters, schools for life, stages for courage, and beginnings of change.

For over two decades, the Women’s Association “Ekaterina Karavelova” – Silistra has been a pillar of support for women and children at risk, working actively in the areas of:

• Violence prevention

• Protection of human rights

• Building a stronger and more united community

Campaign to Create a Multifunctional Space

In partnership with the Lazar Todorov Foundation, the Women’s Association “Ekaterina Karavelova” – Silistra has launched a fundraising campaign to create a safe, vibrant, and multifunctional space for:

• Children

• Youth

• Women

• The local community

This space has enormous potential, but it needs renovation to become a place where confidence, skills, and hope are nurtured.

How the Space Will Be Used

✓ A Place for Youth – The Voice of the Future

The space will host young volunteers from the Youth Preventive Center, who believe that children’s rights are a cause worth fighting for.

Activities will include:

• Trainings and meetings

• Work on children’s and youth initiatives

• Art therapy and creative activities

• Film screenings and discussions

• Sports and preventive activities

Goal: To create an attractive center for more young people — a place for activity, courage, and engagement.

✓ A Place for the Community

The hall will be used for:

• Meetings

• Conferences

• Working groups

• Public initiatives

A truly multifunctional space, open to ideas, dialogue, and collaboration.

✓ A Place for Recovery and Strength

The space will support women and children from the Crisis Center who have been affected by:

• Domestic violence

• Human trafficking

Self-defense courses, led by a qualified specialist, will focus on:

• Building confidence

• Strengthening personal boundaries

• Regaining control over one’s own life

✓ A Place for Art and Visibility

The space will also host:

• Exhibitions

• Art installations

• Cultural events

Because we believe that art heals, connects, and gives voice to lived experience.

What Is Needed to Realize the Project

Necessary Activities:

• Renovation (ceiling, lighting, painting, equipment)

• Creation of a functional and safe environment

• Purchase of 50 folding multifunctional chairs

Target Amount: 19,500 BGN

Planned Expenditures:

• PVC windows, doors, and profiles – 8,000 BGN

• Suspended ceiling – 3,600 BGN

• Lighting and electrical safety – 1,000 BGN

• Kitchen equipment – 1,000 BGN

• Priming and painting – 1,300 BGN

• 50 multifunctional chairs – 2,000 BGN

• Professional sports mats – 1,600 BGN
