We urgently need your help to give our child Marti a chance for a full and independent life! It is painful to be a parent of a child with a disability that can realistically improve, but the financial means are lacking. Marti’s struggle began at birth and has continued for 6 years. He was born with enlarged ventricles, which later grew dramatically, and at 4 months he was diagnosed with internal and external hydrocephalus. He was immediately operated on to insert a shunt. We hoped the nightmare was over and that Marti would be a normal child. Unfortunately, in the following months he developed motor delays. The doctors also diagnosed cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The horror we experienced was immense! We traveled to Turkey for a second opinion, and the diagnoses were confirmed. Now, at 6 years old, Marti has made significant progress thanks to treatment in Turkey: head control, rolling over, independent sitting, crawling, standing, and first steps. He still loses balance occasionally, but we believe he will soon walk and be fully independent. His neurologist in Turkey is confident of this and prescribed exosome therapy and intensive rehabilitation to help Marti progress motorically, mentally, and in speech.
