My name is Seyhan, I am 38 years old, and I am a professional heavy truck driver – this was not only my profession, but also the way I provided for my family. In March 2022, my life changed completely. After a routine work trip, I began to feel extreme fatigue and weakness. Endless check-ups began, diagnoses without clarity, and confusion from the doctors. My condition worsened rapidly – I developed a fever, and later it was confirmed that I had suffered encephalitis. They managed to stabilize me, but the consequences were severe – I lost the ability to walk, and today I am confined to a wheelchair. Since 2023, I have been fighting – undergoing rehabilitation and making enormous efforts to regain control over my body. I have made progress, but to continue and have a real chance to walk again, I need more intensive and professional rehabilitation, which is beyond my family’s financial means. For robotic rehabilitation with Lokomat and conventional therapy, I need around 4,000 BGN per month, and to have real chances of recovery, I must undergo these procedures monthly for the next 12 months. I have already used all my savings and taken loans, but I cannot continue on my own. I want to stand on my own feet again, return to an active life, and be useful – both to my loved ones and to society. I have the will! I have the desire! I don’t have the means!
