For three years, I have been caring for my son Hristo in a wakeful coma. For three years, every morning I wake up hoping to see him calm, free from pain, to open his eyes and say “Mom.” For three years, I have lived between hospital rooms, surgeries, fear, and prayers. Hristo is only 45. One accident changed our lives and left him in this severe and helpless condition. He has undergone surgeries in Bulgaria and Turkey, countless procedures, and pain that no mother should ever witness. Today, my son needs constant medical supervision, daily rehabilitation, and specialized care to maintain his body — to prevent serious wounds, to avoid complete muscle atrophy, and to provide him with the maximum comfort that every human being deserves. This care is daily, expensive, and vital. The costs are already overwhelming for us. Every day is a struggle — not for a miracle, but for Hristo’s dignity and peace. That is why I ask you… as a mother whose heart has become a mix of constant pain and hope: Please extend your hand so we can continue caring for Hristo.
